Nook

Terms of Service

1. About Nook

Nook is a community platform for Mount Alexander Shire — local news, events, notices and radio. It is operated as a personal community project by a local resident. Questions, corrections and legal notices: hello@nook.town.

2. Using Nook

You're welcome to read, browse and share Nook. Please don't:

You need to be 18 or older (or have a parent's consent) to hold an account.

3. Aggregated and third-party content

Much of what you see — news articles, events and listings — is gathered automatically from third-party sources and links back to them. Nook isn't responsible for the accuracy of that content; times, prices and details can change at the source. If something looks wrong, tell us at hello@nook.townand we'll fix or remove it.

4. Accounts

You're responsible for keeping access to your own email (that's how you sign in). We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms. You can ask us to delete your account at any time — see the Privacy Policy.

5. Content you submit

If you submit something to Nook (for example an event), you keep ownership of it and grant us permission to display it on the platform. Submissions are reviewed before they appear, approval isn't guaranteed, and we may remove content at our discretion.

6. Copyright

If you hold copyright in something shown on Nook and want it removed, email hello@nook.townwith: what the work is, where it appears on Nook, your contact details, and a statement that you're acting in good faith. We'll respond within 14 days.

7. No warranty

Nook is provided “as is”. We don't guarantee it will always be available, accurate or fit for a particular purpose, and to the extent permitted by law we're not liable for loss arising from your use of it. Nothing here limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Victorian courts.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; continued use after a change means you accept the updated version. Material changes will be flagged in the app or by email. The date at the top shows when these terms last changed.

10. Image takedown

Nook re-hosts thumbnail images from the articles and events it aggregates, always linking back to the source. If you are a publisher or rights-holder and want an image removed, email hello@nook.town and we will take it down promptly.
